Shad hatch explosion at C.C.

Well it's about a week or two early, but today when I was out on C.C. everywhere I went I marked Shad balls . . . .the crawler bites going to die down fast now.
Talked to a guy that fish's for Crappie at night with a floating light . . . .he says the Shad are about 1 inch.

Without the Shad we got no Walleye . . . .C.C. shad population grows fat happy Walleye.Let them have a feast . . .I'll be back in the fall after the shad die off.In the mean time it's back to my home lake . . . .

I saw lots of shad at Chatfield on Sunday as well. I marked none at Pueblo on
Saturday. Walleye get harder for a few months. Off to the mountain lakes for cooler temps.

in my past experience the week of July 4th seems to be the timeframe the crawler bite dies due to the shad explosion on both CC and Chatty.... right on schedule -)
