I love fly fishing for carp. I know not everyone likes it, however for those interested in trying it out I made a video that may be helpful to get you started. [log in for link] . My goal is only to help people who are interested. Any feedback, positive or negative is welcome.

Exceptional job on the video. Great tips with some good action mixed in. Good work on the flies too. Those are all good versatile weapons. Standing ovation on this one. One of the best videos I've seen here.

great video, lots of good info, thanks for sharing. One thing about carp, they seem to be almost every where around town so there are a lot of places to look for them and challenge your fishing ability.

These same rules apply for stalking redfish on the salt flats . I winter in SE Texas and chase reds OTF all the time in water knee deep or less. Spotting the fish and putting a crab or shrimp fly 10' in its path usually will get an eat. The key is not setting to early.. Reds resemble the carp and are a good test for the 8 wt. Pretty good on the grill too,, Great video..Cheers

Thanks not to old to fish and Vinnie! Redfish are definitely on my list of fish I want to catch. Someday soon I'll make it out to the coast and try for them. They look like a blast to fish for.

Redfish are a lot of fun to catch on a spinning rod never tried a fly outfit on them. Great table fare also, we went to south Louisiana on a couple trips with some friends.
