Lake: Jackson Lake

Windy Day at Jackson Pays Off

First time to Jackson Lake - got on the water around 7:15am with a slight breeze that turned nasty around 8 with lots of chop and whitecaps. The few fish we marked were all over the lake it seemed. Decided to power to the east end and troll with the wind pushing us west. Had a total of maybe 6 bites between us then finally found a taker. My first wiper so obviously my PB - what a beautiful fish and an even better fight. Didn't get a weight on her but she measured 27". Safely released to fight another day. I wasn't sure if I would go back to Jackson but that fish changed my mind.

Pretty cool your first one is Master Angler material. Those things are so bad they should be wearing chains. Definitely one of the best fights in fresh water. Thanks for the story & pics. Great way to start the day.

Congrats on your trophy sized wiper, nothing hits as hard as a wiper. Thanks for sharing.
