Buttery Browns

Really fun times out on the Colorado River recently with my little fishing buddy, Hayden! As some of you know, I've been having some good luck on the rivers this Spring, and it's been really good out of a new stretch I've been hitting. Hayden took me to fish some other spots I've never fished before on that stretch and we also hit some spots that I fished the first time I hit this section.

It was a fairly productive morning with several fish landed and a handful of chases and missed bites...Overall it was a great morning though! J-Spec 9 mile Goby and the HD Trout Ghost Cutthroat Pattern caught all my fish for me....Runoff is starting to creep in!

Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Nice fish - gonna have to bite the bullet and get some of those new colors from Dynamic Lures. Afternoons might still be a little better just because the river water warms a little during the day. Checked water temps at a City Reservoir you like to fish and it is barely hitting 50 degrees. It should turn on in a couple of weeks, maybe sooner.

Great job on the video as always. The mighty Arkansas is going good right now too. Lucky for me, everyone is sitting down there with marshmallows & corn & leaving all the big wild nasty dirty mean browns for me.

I think you should! I fully understand not wanting to splurge on tackle, but some of these new patterns have been money for me and are taking the place of my go-to patterns recently. That's good to know...A water thermometer is something I really need to invest in, especially now that I'm going to for warmwater species again.

I've been meaning to get up to fish the Arkansas for a while now, I think I might try and plan a trip in a couple weeks or maybe right after the main runoff is calming down. Really excited to start getting out more this year!

Those are beauties. Great stuff. I hoped to send you a few pics since I finally snuck out and hit some small open strips at the Mile but the pics did not turn out. Brutalized my hands in rough conditions but landed 2 gorgeous 24 in cuttbows--fat as can be. You know you are out of practice when your hands are pink and swollen for 24 hrs after getting cold. Keep up the good work.
