Anyone here see this complete Sh!tshow?!

I was there on the 27th, but didn't see any sign of this. There was also significantly less snow out there on the 27th, supposedly one day later than the news is claiming this happened.

Caption says "Over eager anglers"! What a joke. Complete IDIOTS! They should lose their Drivers license, fishing license, and vehicle (after paying the fines). Complete MORONS!

The good news is they were covered for access to the SWA with their -assumed- fishing licenses!
I always chuckle when I see the CPW guidelines for safety and they show the Dodge truck in the chart.

It doesn't seem like anyone was hurt. I'd say it was just a memorable trip. :)

It always amazes me how some people can minimize irresponsible behavior. These idiots knew, (or should have known), better. Stupid is as stupid does! Glad no one got hurt.

Funny till someone dies....similar thing happened with two guys on a snowcat on Island Lake last year. Broke through and had a watery grave.

People can be idiots.... How do they not know they should not be doing that? I agree.. Lose your DL, Fishing and Hunting License. Zero respect for anything.

Just to play devils advocate in many states that have ice fishing driving on the lake is allowed and common practice. There are even a few here in Colorado. Imo more of them should allow it. Maybe they were new to Colorado. I doudt it but who knows. Either way they should have been checking the ice long before driving out on it.

^ Nooo! They must hanged! Nothing else will satisfy the masses. I guess it's cathartic to see people who are more "stupid" than you. I enjoy it myself, but "stupid" is relative. And I don't men IQ... :)

Reminds me of the first time I saw those guys doing the ice races on Georgetown Lake right off of I70. Maybe these guys got lost on their way to that.
Also, I have a few friends back in Ohio who have a secret smallmouth hole that involves a couple sunken schoolbuses in a river...

I fish this lake in SDSK often and have caught SMB casting into the open barn door.

The overreaction here is shocking to me. They are idiots for not knowing the rules, but not for the actual act of driving and getting stuck on ice...

On the 20th or 21st someone had their ATV out there. Maybe more signage is needed for those who donít want to do any research of any kind.

At least check the ice thickness and quality first. Hope they have many good ice trips in the future.
