Browns in local creek

I finally made some time to get out and go fishing during my lunch breaks throughout the week and broke this little creek! Thereís tons of brown trout in it!! Using l jerk baits is definitely the most fun wait to catch them in my opinion!! Check out how it went down!!

Nice fish, nice pictures.
Doesn't anyone make single barbless Siwash-type hooks for spinning lures? They used to. Makes release a lot easier on everyone.
Some states require them still, don't they? Just Alaska?
Seems like such a shame to have to tear a couple of trebles out of that pretty fish's mouth.
Great you could find open water in Feb.

Iím going to start buying those types of hooks for my jerkbait. Getting the hooks out has been interesting and Iím surprised I havenít had to go to ER yet removing a jerkbait bait from a trout

@critter & @rich hey guys thanks! Yea at times when it was cold enough the creek would ice over, I was pretty lucky. Hey man I just had my car stolen with all my gear, I wouldnít leave your gear in your vehicle man, the police that recovered my car said vehicle theft is up 300 percent!! Idk anything about the barbless hooks bro Iím new to other species aside from bass man, Iíll definitely look into them tho thanks for the idea man!! Tight lines all!!

" Idk anything about the barbless hooks bro Iím new to other species aside from bass"

Treble hooks aren't that tough to deal with on trout if you have some fishing forceps to take the hook(s) out. The hooks are too small and trout flop around too much to deal with it using fingers.

To make your hooks barbless, just take said forceps and smash the barb down if that's what you want. I wouldn't be against trying single hooks on a hardbait, but I'd keep the trebles in case they run differently.

Nice fish..
