Congrats FishingJunkie on Catching a HUGE PB LAKE TROUT

Me and James (FishingJunkie) from the forums went ice fishing in search of some Lake Trout and boy did we have quite the trip! He finally managed to catch a BIG Laker he's been after for years, his previous PB being 24 inches.

I'm happy that I was there to help him land the beast. I was so nervous that I grabbed the fish by it's teeth and it cut my finger in 5 places. James eventually grabbed it with his glows on and we landed the giant!

It was an awesome (though cold) trip - for sure. I got the fish at 11:45am right before we were about to head home.... it was a complete surprise. AJ saw the fish on his awesome Panoptix graph - the fish signature was larger than the other fish that day. By complete luck of the draw the fish hit my white, heavily damaged tube - so I got lucky that day. I've been after a fish like this for a long time so it feels good to finally 'arrive'. That lake is special to me.

Tony,

Some of your tips over the last few years have helped plenty. I use those same tips at other lakes and no matter where you are it's always the same fundamentals.

Hey Tony - I was reminiscing on that trip that I didn't have any success on this lake until you showed me the ropes years back.... thx!

Oh, and I think your fav' spot is safe - it's too darn far to walk.... :)

I think those Lakers have started making crawfish their new main diet maybe, at least there's a lot of them in that lake.

I don't mind walking a lot but Tony's spot is just a bit too much for my outta shape self to walk to and have to pack up and walk back by the end of the day. I'm going to try the other side for the first time ever through the ice. I'm going to try and fish for pike and browns this time.

Hope you land the beast you're after sir. We always let any fish 22 or over go. These are historic/old fish that deserve to swim off for other anglers to enjoy!

Glad you guys both did well the last few days.
Yeah, you were not in my Fav spot, but it is my 3rd spot I try, roughly.
And you've now caught a fish there at least as big as my PB - 35".
