My wife and I are planning to fish there this Saturday. We have a 4 month old now that we are planning to leave with grandma. Did any of you have a cell signal there and with what provider just in case we need to be reached.

T mobile usually looses service just after you leave Jefferson. I haven't been this season but in years past that was my experience. Good luck.

My phone is at&t and I have no service once I make the turn at the Jefferson Market. There are no towers in the area to my knowledge. Your best bet is to look at the individual carrier coverage maps on their websites.

I have Verizon and I do not have service on that lake, although there has been a few times in the exact right spot on the southwest side (right by the weedline) I have received calls there. But Jefferson is the closest reliable reception you will have.

Verizon isnít to bad. I can send texts, surf the internet and receive calls when I am at Antero since there is a tower in the area and no mountains. Jefferson lake and Tarryall are really hit and miss for me. Sometimes I have service and sometimes I donít at those two locations.

I agree with The cat001. It's hit or miss with Verizon at Tarryall. I will be there on Saturday as well. GOOD LUCK!

Yea i'm afraid no go on the signal there. There are much better options to fish with better signal for you.

So I guess I'll be the odd man out. I get service along the highway side around the main parking and dam. But zero along the west side/hills. Also get perfect service on all of 11 miles south side. If that's an option for you. T-Mobile is my provider. Out of Fremont County/canon city.

Update: I checked the coverage maps for T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon prior to Saturday. Only Verizon had 4GLTE coverage according to their website and the other two did not. I went and got a prepaid sim card for $40. We fished by the dam and were able to make calls.

Thank you all for your inputs,

Adisaga,do you have a link to those coverage maps? I have the same provider that would be cool to see. I'll try to find it on my own but I didn't know they had coverage maps where you can specify the locations.
