Took the boy to St. Vrain today at Noon. There were six people scattered across the South and West side of Sandpiper. As a gentleman came off I asked about the ice, and he said 2.5”. I walked out and found 3””, so I was ok with the 10 yo in about 3-3.5’ fow.
I punched two holes 4’ apart, and we caught 5 stockers in about 45 minutes with Atomic Teasers (‘20 bait of the year?) and a little piece of prawn.
Overall we landed 11, and missed a few smarter ones in 3.5 hours.
It will be cold tonight, but forecast high of 40 tomorrow. It will probably be ok in the morning, but not sure how the ice will hold up.
Sorry, no pictures, but everything was in the perfect for kids range and hungry of 8-12” or so. All but two went back for us.
