Hey everyone, this post is a report of my recent fish outing as well as an ice report for what I saw when I was up on Grand Mesa. Just what I saw visually, I didn't go out with a chipper/spud bar or anything. Our initial plan was to open water fish but that all changed that day...
11/15 - Drove around for about an hour in between 9K-10.7K looking for open water, the first lake we drove by at 9K had ice and snow on it with no open water in site...The larger lakes closer to 10K looked roughly the same but more honeycomb type patches on the ice. Some of the lakes around 10.2K had thin layers of ice on them with little snow, nothing seemed safe from the eye test and of course no one was out on it fishing either...Hoping to get into some type of early ice action soon though in this area!!
Fishing - We hit a lake that was half frozen and Sam (GF) saved the day and was the only one that caught any fish. She landed 3 rainbows all with the ned rig! Bite was tough though Sam, Remy, and I tried a plethora of things that afternoon!! Got some fun drone shots of what we saw and still had a great time out!
