Non-Stop Action BIG Browns on Jerkbaits

The temps are getting cold and seeing that high temps are in mid-30's up in the mountains we headed out one last time to hunt for some big browns using jerkbaits. Man it was awesome! Over 35 browns all released!

Jerkbaits did the trick a variety of them this time from Strike King to Dynamic Lures to Smithswicks which I love to use for walleye. I've come to realize that Walleye and Browns are a lot alike!

You're welcome! I wanted to try it out there one more time to get a friend on his first brown but looks like the lake is a goner until spring for open water.

I was thinking about heading up there this weekend, do you know if it is still open water?

IT was 1.5 inches thick this morning according to my friend that went out to fish them using jerbaits so he drove to spinney and ended up at 11 mile to fish by 9am. I think the wind will break up the ice easily, I will be trying to fish open water Sunday with friends so I hope the wind tomorrow will break it up.

All trout species around spawn time display some of the most vibrant colors I've seen on any fish, the cutthroats and brookies and even some lakers have the brightest oranges, reds and purples on them. These fish are art!
