Bluegill Fish Tacos - Your Favorite Way to Eat Them?

Post By: FishHuntNow      Posted: 9/24/2020 6:11:17 PM     Points: 1709
Went out for one final time to Jumbo this was a week or so ago to catch some Bluegills to make some delicious tacos. I've never had Bluegill so this was my first time. I will be honest and say it is the best tasting fish I've had even more so then Walleye. Filmed a catch clean and cook of process here [log in for link]

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the link. Between this and the ceviche idea from another bluegill post, I need to give it a try. Last time they tasted too mossy!

Only managed 1 keeper eye today so I mixed in some shrimp and had walleye shrimp tacos. Delicious

MOJO,

When you fry them or even bake them, they do not taste mossy what so ever as caviche I can imagine it would since it's raw fish. But i'm sure it depends on the water and how you clean it. I cannot elaborate too much on that style since I've never done it.
