Fished Granby Lake 9/19. Launched the boat at about 0630, headed right to Deer Island. Fished in 4 areas at depths ranging from 60-100 feet using a variety of 2-3.5 inch jigs tipped with sucker meat. I have a Hummingbird Helix 7, but have recently started bringing my Marcum LX-7 Ice Fishing sonar as well. If you haven't tried this from a boat, I recommend it. I was able to see fish, but they were not striking anything. They would come to our lures and check them out but not strike. Frequently had multiple fish at multiple depths, but no takers. All appeared to be coming off the bottom to investigate, but again did not strike. Got skunked. I'm fairly new to jigging for lakers, but have been doing really well at Turquoise Lake lately. Not sure why we did not have luck at Granby. The smoke was noticeable but not bad. The boat launch at Stillwater was pretty dead, which was great.
