Just a pale trout?

Post By: Wreckstar      Posted: 9/9/2020 11:35:01 AM     Points: 1129
Caught this fish several months ago, and thought it was very odd at the time. It was kinda blue in color and very pale for what I was used to seeing in trout. Figured it was just what they looked like at that lake and moved on. Then I read something today about a rare blue colored trout caught at Lake Superior and remembered my catch.

So I caught it in June at Crawford reservoir. This was the only picture I got, and it doesn't really show the blue tint quite like I could see in person. It definitely had a blue color to it. Just a pale trout?

I caught a rainbow trout almost identical looking to that this past Spring, in the Colorado River. Thought it was very strange looking...Glad I'm not the only one.

Just a pale rainbow. Some fish caught in either deep or dark/ murky water will loose a lot of color . Lack of sunlight penetration .

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to rainbow trout, have seen them in every variation.
