Monsters are REAL!

Post By: anglerwannabe      Posted: 8/28/2020 12:18:42 PM     Points: 59330
Fishing my very favorite reservoir last night (11 Mile) and got an absolutely massive strike. This fish is so big and strong I can barely hold the rod. Believe the only reason my line didn't snap is because I was on my toon. This fish was dragging us across the lake at about 20 knots. It was then it dawned on me this fish might be large enough to eat me!!! Yikes. It makes Arctic Bass seem like pussy cats. After what seemed like hours, I finally managed to land this monster and wow is it a sight to behold. After seeing this, my fellow float tubers might rethink tubing The Mile!

Good thing you employed the reverse stiff arm when you took that picture, Jim. Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to get the whole fish to fit within the picture!

After seeing a Al Linder segment where a guy hooked an approximate 5+ Smallie and a 50” Musky inhaled the Smallie the guy landed a fish of a lifetime. The big one that pulled you around the lake could’ve just let the hammer handle go right before you netted it! 😜 Always good to see your sense of humor as well as the stud fish you catch out of there! 🎣👍🥃

You must have a guardian angel somewhere to have survived such an ordeal!
You’ve survived to fish another day. Luckily.

I keep telling ya. You need to tie barrels around that toon . One day one of those beasts are going to drag you to the bottom of the lake ! Then you might end up snagged on some guys pop gear and ruin his trolling run!! Some kids never learn. Lucky thing you survived this time. You know Jim, that fish is aaallmost dinky enough to be Kev-o class ! ! ! LMAO.🤣🤣

Fun post Jim!

man I wish mine was as big as yours. Must have taken most the day to bring in. I know mine took about an hour.

Kev . You sir , have got some “ mad skills” . That fish couldn’t even stretch out far enough to be considered as “ small “ . You could measure its length with a micrometer ! “ All hail Dink Vader “ !

So I went out again today to prove catching monsters at the Mile is not a fluke and replicated the feat again!

Kenny - thank you for recognizing how difficult it is to pull off the reverse stiff arm!

Kev - indeed

Smelly - Barrels are a good idea. Should have done it today too

Cole and Kev - great job on the reverse stiff arm.

Billy - buddy you gotta work on the reverse stiff arm. Just like the stiff arm makes small fish look big.. the reverse stiff arm makes monsters look small!

Hey Greg - Not the fish below.. I'll post soon. Didn't catch grey beard.. but certainly a sibling today.

Bill - it's ok to be jealous!

Hope this thread makes some folks smile

Monsters are real. It’s all about perspective-which side of the line you see it from.

Typically there’s at least a jerk at one end, usually the case for me.

I strive for having jerks at both end butt rarely successful.
