Front Range Lakes for Drift Boat

Post By: cpino      Posted: 8/23/2020 5:24:23 PM     Points: 0
Does anyone have lake recommendations for launching a drift boat? Looking for a reason to get out on the water in the evenings after work.

Iím having a hard time finding boat ramp access some of the smaller lakes along the Front Range.

Cherry Creek . . . .Chatty . . . .Aurora all have boat ramps. If your looking for ramps on city park lakes . . . .not going to happen. Most city park lakes don't have boat launching ramps and are not boat friendly.Barr has a ramp, but its not open to any trailered boats till they repair the outlet. There are few and far between places for launching a drift out here in the metro area.Sorry to be so negitive ,but Sloans lake is the only lake around with a ramp and its locked down this yr because of Covid.Sloans lake is for water skiers and they have to buy a pass from Denver parks to ski there.I'm not aware of any SWAs close by that have boat ramps.

I fish Aurora at least 2-4 times a week and there are a few drift boats that come out there, Most have electric motors on them, but Aurora is a no gas motor lake,so you won't have to struggle with a bunch of power boats running around you if you row.Paddle/sail/electric/row . . .only gas motor is the rangers boat.
