Aurora Once Again Too Low For Dock Use

Post By: shrinkucci      Posted: 8/22/2020 10:44:56 PM     Points: 0
This happened last year. The dock is pretty much unusable, particularly when loading and unloading alone. I had a major hassle last week getting my boat loaded back up. I will miss the great Sept, Oct and early Nov fishing as a result. Aurora ought to give rebates for screwing up almost half of the fishing season by not wisely managing the reservoir water. The inspection lady said that the Aurora businesses and home owners are putting a huge demand for water on Aurora. Since this is now an annual problem Aurora Reservoir should drop its rates for the missing half season.

The dock worked fine for me yesterday(8/22/20) when the dock can no longer be used,I will just beach the boat.

The inspection lady said the fires are the cause of low water,. They aren't releasing water from the high country so the pipeline isnt pumping...

Water boards should realize one of these days that fishermen and boaters are their main customers, not homeowners and infrastructure users.

Next year don't buy a permit.
That'll show 'em.

^^^^ you may want to do a little research on how water is managed in Colorado.

You have it backwards.

LOL...I've been somewhat tactfully told I'm entitled and thoughtless...I think you are right. I vented before I thought. What I have realized, now that I've had a moment to calm down, is that I need to teach my grandson and other fishing partners how to use the bow Terrova so we can unload and load without walking the boat along the dock. Thanks for the feedback guys--it never occurred to me about the fires and water usage.

I'm still able to launch and load my boat . . . .when the dock is no longer any use,I start to wear shorts and paddle board slippers . . .Walmart sells the rubber slippers for about $10. I'm not worried about getting wet . . . . .I dry off fast. You are lucky to have grandsons and fishing buddy's.I don't like to leave the boat and gear unattended while I run to park or retrive the trailer durring the week when my regular fishing buddy is working.
