Woldford fishing

Post By: Maxman      Posted: 8/7/2020 2:32:56 PM     Points: 31
Taking a out of state friend tomorrow to Wolford for some kokanee fishing! Haven't fished it this year due to everything going on. I have a boat and downriggers and leadcore. Any suggestions on fishing them? Color, depth, etc? Appreciate any help! He has never caught a kokanee and want to show him a good time!
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Look back through the Wolford forums from the past few years. I've posted several on there. I grew up on the Grand Country lakes and still have family up there so I frequent it often. They're starting to school so once you find an active school, mark it and keep going through it until they shut off, then move onto the next. If you get lucky, you may find one dense enough to sit on and jig. If they start disappearing run your lines shallow...10-12 feet. Tip lures with white shoe peg corn or yellow sweet corn. A little scent in it never hurts. Id start out in the choice directly across from the ramp. It's been consistently productive. Good luck.....
