Boating question

Post By: fishgutz      Posted: 8/7/2020 8:54:51 AM     Points: 131
I had a question about wakeless lakes(North Delaney). Can I take my Tracker with 60horsepower on the lake as long as i only use my minkota trolling motor and not the big motor? I know what wakeless means and i read through the colorado boating regulations book however it doesn't really specify if I can.
Thanks for any help!

Yes you can take your boat and use the electric or the 60 as long as you just putt around with it.

In Colorado wakeless is legally 5mph OR a wave that does not break over into white water, whichever is LESS.

Some boats can go 5mph legally without breaking a wave, others roll a wake at that speed so they cannot go 5mph legally.

A wakeless designation, by itself, does not restrict motor power types...that is a separate rule. CL

If you cannot use the gas engine, typically the regs for the lake will say “electric motors only”

All three above reply's are correct . . . .your gas motor is OK as long as you don't go too fast.
