Fish: Rainbow Trout

Good Day of Fishing, Stupid Mistake

Post By: Team CO.F.F.      Posted: 7/21/2020 1:15:22 PM     Points: 57
Went up to explore a new lake with a Subscriber and had a great time...Probably the most talking I've ever done with random people, as the lake we chose was easily the most crowded lake I've ever seen up there. Everyone I talked with was very pleasant and as excited to fish as I was😀

The lake has a wide variety of trout in it, per reports and the people I spoke with...Saw tigers, brook trout, a few cuttys, and tons of rainbows swimming around in the crystal clear water...We had great action all morning and early afternoon, but only could get on the Rainbows...The subscriber/friend I went with, had a splake on but lost it at his feet. The weather was sunny and bright, with minimal clouds...We were up at 10K+, so the temps were still a nice mid 60's...Always good to escape the lower elevation dry heat!! This in turn made for some great aerial footage with the drone!

I also did something exceptionally stupid! I decided recently I wanted to try and film from my belly boat, using my head mount instead of the chesty...The angle is better! Unfortunately, I did a stupid cast and tilted my head back in an upset manner and my headmount fell off...Currently it resides on the bottom of the lake lol...Good thing I brought my GF's and we got some more action after that! Great times fishing still! Hope you guys enjoy!

I'm sure it does, it's a pretty popular one up there I guess. Easily the most crowded lake I've ever been on up there. Was sort of strange to me since that never happens haha.

Hate losing gear like that, dang it anyway. That lake looks very familiar to me as well. Did you go on a weekend or during the week? I know there are a lot of people doing a lot more recreation this summer since they are not working and it seems everyplace with easy access is busy even during the weekdays. Glad to see you got a net, Ha!

Haha ya it was unfortunate but I guess bound to happen. We went this past weekend on Saturday morning. We got our lines in the water by 8 and there was roughly 6-8 people there...By around 12 I would say there had to be around 40-50 people. Ya I completely agree, busy year for the easy to access fisheries. Even the ones that are a little more difficult are still pretty crowded. LOL Can't believe it took me this long to get one for the bellyboat lol. Much easier then the hands 😂

Appreciate the email and the GREAT idea...I'll have to try that out soon, Sam usually wears a hat too so she'll like that. Do you have a channel or do you just record for personal use?

Nice catches and video! Sucks losing your gear! I went over the top Friday afternoon and it reminded of Big Bear in Calif.! Most people Iíve seen up there in a long time!🎣🍻

How many times have I told you? Don't record with a head mounted camera while catching fish at 10k with your head tilted and no flotation device attached-on a Monday afternoon in mid July!! HAHA

It's been a crowded year, I can only imagine how bad things are near the front range though...Most people I've ever seen up on the Mesa this year x10. Hoping next year things go back to normal! Tight lines man!

I was happy to salvage a video out of the day despite losing the entire morning footage. Luckily we were at high elevation or I bet we would've lost the video lol. Tight lines Bron!
