Tiger trout on Grand Mesa

I need help. I had a nice place to catch tigers and they drained it and from what I am told they do not intend to restock them.

I know several lakes on the Grand Mesa now have tigers, but the lake map only shows one. Not asking for any honey holes by any stretch, just curious where I could find a list of lakes that have been stocked with tigers. Anyone...?

The Colorado fishing atlas on the CPW site lists 12 lakes on the Grand Mesa as having tiger trout. I’m not sure how often it gets updated though.

Go to the fish species tab at the top of the page and click tiger trout. It has a list of lakes where tigers have been stocked.

Yard dogs, I think I misunderstood. Your looking for lakes on the Grand Mesa with tigers. I have an idea about how you can get a list but I don’t wanna blast it on the inter webs. Hit me up on my skipper link and I’ll be happy to share.

I hear you loud and clear. I recently went to that lake myself not knowing that they had drained it last fall. I fished for several hours and did not get a single strike and see any rises. I finally figured out that they must have drained it along with the one downstream that I had already known about. I know there are a few other lakes on the Meas that show up on the State map as having Tigers, but I have not personally fished any of them lately, so I can't verify anyplace. I have caught them in Utah but not in Colorado. good luck with your search.

Listen to last week Terry Wickstrom Saturday outdoors show podcast on 104.3 The Fan, he talked to CPW bio about this very subject, great 411 as always
