FXR Get together BBQ.

Post By: i2fly      Posted: 6/29/2020 10:07:39 AM     Points: 1887
Hey we are approaching July. I would still like to have a meet and greet BBQ. Share some ideas, flies and maybe even catch a few fish. However Iíd still like to know if there is interest. Iíll do a full packer brisket, bring BBQ sauce and rolls. I believe Bill said he would bring pulled pork and slaw. Who is interested?? If you would like to attend please bring a side. I think this could be fun to chat it up with a bunch of fishy folks. I love to talk fishing.

Yes we still have covid 19.. please be aware of the fact. Practice safe distancing and good hygiene prior to gathering and eating. If you donít feel well please donít attend.

This event will be on a week day!

Depending on the actual day, I would love to meet up with the group and share ideas/techniques. When an actual date is decided, please let me know. Love the entire South park area, even though it's a haul from Longmont.
Thanks, TW

I have been mulling the date around. I was leaning toward July 13,14, or 15. Thatís a Monday Tuesday or a Wednesday.. my post was to try for some input and overall interest. Who would like to attend? This is not a competition just a friendly gathering.

Iím interested depending on when and where. I might be able to bring a couple racks of ribs that my old boss cooks for competition. They are very tasty without any bbq sauce.

Be sure to be very clear about not being a touney or competition ect. Pretty much anything official requires a permitt and the powers that be can sometimes have hard time with the differences.

We have been hassled in the past but alot the guys who participate know what to do/not do and what not to say.

Sure sounds fun i2, not to mention incredibly mouthwatering! However I'm on a family camp trip and then helping daughter move that week.

Submit some days guys and gals and weíll see what we can come up with.
As i2 noted weíre pretty flexible. Not that it matters to me, I live here next to the lakes, but I believe Antero would be best, the new covered patio area is quite nice and has two 360 degree grills, Iím sure I can get the use of it for an outing.
And yes pulled pork and slaw with rolls and HOT SAUCE!

Bill I agree with Antero as the destination... I think we only need some sides to go with the meats. Other things of need are: ice, soft drinks, paper plates, plastic ware, napkins, hand sanitizer, the adult beverage YOU chose. Lastly but most importantly laughter and camaraderie.

Letís make this an event!! I2

I'm good for any of the 3 days mentioned. Figured probably fishing early, and then break around lunch for the actual get together. I can bring multiple sides including pasta salad, baked beans, and watermelon. I'll also bring some paper plates/plasticware to share. Coming from Longmont, and I'll probably be solo, so if someone wants to hitch a ride, just let me know. I'll have my yak in the bed, but can fit plenty more.

Twilly73, very generous of you. I was thinking we would break around 12-1:30-2 pm. Then back out for some more fishing. I hope to meet a bunch of like minded people. Weather can always be a factor as we know. It isnít fun to do a BBQ with 40 mph wind. Other than that... Letís go fishing!
