Trout Fishing Foothills

Hey All,

I live near Nederland in Boulder County. I spent most my life fishing for bass, walleye, northerns. When I moved to CO wanted to play in the creeks for trout to enjoy the hike and new challenge. So I can catch 6”-8” brown trout in the upper Boulder creek until I’m tired. But does anyone have any suggestions for trout waters up my way that produce trout with some size. Ya know, wouldn’t mine tossing one on the grill from time to time. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

All the trout of size have probably been put on someone’s grill. Kind of a cause and effect type thing...

6-8" browns taste great and come from pristine waters, something that fish from many other states don't exist in. There is a fishery, about 20 mins from you, that regularly produces near record brookies. I'll leave it at that.

Everyone has been putring those brookies on the grill. Kind if a slow year for that lake

Thank you Mojo! I might know the water your talking about but have never been there. If you are willing to share any details with a responsible fellow angler who respects nature and honors all regulations (been fishing 48 years But not much trout experience) here is an email you can use:
Thanks again, it’s always nice to see folks sharing helpful info.
