6 Species, 56 Pounds of Fish, Tournament

Competed recently in the Annual Rangely Fishing Derby and had good results! I released part one last week of us practicing and going over conditions...This is PART TWO, which consists of the tournament and the results...No intro in this one really, just straight into fishing.

With the weather being VERY BAD, we figured slow rolling and dead sticking carolina rigs and various rigs like it, was the way to go. Caught a lot of fish in the 2 days fished and we probably fished near 22 hours of it! I feel that was a good number considering the conditions, a little less then last year timed fished though. Weather cleared up for the last couple hours of the tournament and we got into some smallmouth too! (WE WON MOST SMALLMOUTH PRIZE) A lot of fun memories caught on film and good times overall with the team suffering through the bad weather lol. Hope you all enjoy the video!!

I need to find out where you work and if they are hiring. I need a job that allows for as much fishing time as you.

Haha I'm the Head IT Technician for the school district in Parachute, Colorado...We're pretty well setup and I have an absurdly cool boss that lets me take off almost whenever I want to fish, he encourages it actually as he is an avid fly fisherman with a big family so he can't get out as much anymore. I used to be on the water 200+ times a year but with the youtube channel now its closer to 125-150 due to editing :(

Im not a big proponent of kill tournements but...if I was on your side of the divide, I would have fished it. To compete. Really liked the video and am happy you placed after all you dealt with!

Completely Understandable...This tournament is good for removing/managing a lot of the bottom feeders from the lake in a fun way. Every year the total weight of the tournament increases, besides this year due to a lot of teams only fishing limited amounts of time. I'm always torn about killing off the smallmouth on the other part of the dam, but I fish there a few times a year after the tournament and it's still great. I guess they're no where close to having those numbers even near manageable. I think if they didn't do this tournament the catfish and carp would overrun the lake haha. Glad you enjoyed Bron, It was a fun but tough one to make lol.
