When people ask that question I generally say go to Granby or willlow creek. Grand lake goes out a few feet then drops off to the center of the earth. Not saying you won't catch fish but there are many better options at the other two. Depending on the age and skill of the kids i'de go to willow Creek. Less stuff to snag, easier access to the lake.

Granby, Willow Creek, and Shadow Mtn. are on the way to Grand Lake. You will pass them all on the way to Grand. GH is right, you will see more action at any of those 3 lakes.

Yeah, but fishing right in town is kind of fun for kids. Especially when the town is open for business which I assume is not the case right now. Anyways, kind of snaggy but fishing on or near the bridge/canal can be productive. Also, the public dock area (away from the swim beach would be the other place I would try. As every one else is saying, unless there is ice, I'mm going somewhere else in the county to fish.

Awesome. What I needed to hear. Assuming these other places are not that far from Grand Lake... we are camping there
