St Vrain Sunday 4/19

Fished Blue Heron from 12-6 today, water temp reach 57 degrees before afternoon cloud cover. Visibility was the typical 1-2 ft. Caught 7 eyes on jig, 4 @~12” and 3 @~17”, all returned. Nice calm day on the water and although there were lots of people fishing from shore they were social distancing for the most part.

what kind of boat are you fishing from ?

How were you catching them and what part of the lake .

Fabfisher . . . . .Dad always told me . . ."do your homework" son.Asking what a person was using and what part of the lake they fished is lazy and most times you will get no reply or some under handed reply. You ask me that question and I'll just not answer you . . . .be happy dasshoud even posted his post.

I haven't been there for a long time. I can't hand launch my tracker. I used to have a 14 ft open starcraft I could put it on anywhere. I miss that little boat !

Boat launch is straight forward on Blue Heron with the dock in. I’ve seen plenty of different watercraft on there from large bass boats to the occasional party boat.

Before I got this boat last year I would fish Blue Heron and Bald Eagle pretty regularly from my Colorado XT toon. Still have it for just such on occasion later this year -)

Sunday I was fishing outside of shore casting distance from the various points. I’ve also had some limited success this season right up against the shore jigging.
