soooo 1) it was hooked in the lip on a green jig 2) I netted it 3) I released it
The jig was from line that was broke off in a tree!
For more context.. that green jig 10 days ago was at least one or two feet out of the water, I saw it Sunday before last. The lake level has risen enough that jig got into the water and the carp obviously took it! We found it because The Boss heard splashing as we were launching the toon.
soooooo is it a catch? yay or nay?
The last pic is the fish kissing me on the cheek and profusely thanking me for freeing it! lol
You caught a carp? And it was pre tethered?! Thatís not even a fish, so no. Double no! If I hook a fish and it lands on the stripping apron of my tube and you wonít count it frigging forget it lmfao!!!! 🤗

Very gray area Jim. Ill say yes because of the rescue. A buddy of mine had a carp break off in the russian olives at Pomona and there it was stuck. He was about to wade in for it and a guy in the house behind us gave him a boat grabber and he got it. We counted that.
Is it a catch if you reel it in on your buddies pole while he is taking a leak?
Is it a catch if its foul hooked?
Is it a catch if you drag in a fishing rod and theres a fish on it?
Is it a catch if you are leaning on a dip net and a fish swims into it?
No.1 no. Not your rod. No.2. Foul hooked= illegal catch. Fish must be hooked in the mouth to count as ďlegally caughtĒ. No.3. No. Not your rod. No.4. You canít legally fish with a net unless youíre collecting bait.
All of these rules are null and void if you are just fishing for slimers. Where you been bron lol!!! 🤦♂️🤣
Bron . . . . . .two times in my life I have caught a rod . . .first time it was a rod my buddys mom dropped overboard a year earlyer at C.C. (cleaned up just fine) second was a Cabela's trolling combo I hooked at Gray Rocks. No fish on either rods :(
Years ago I recall a bass hanging from a tree in the Turkey Creek cove when Pueblo was way down, Iím assuming he broke someone off in the brush but didnít get lucky with another angler and ended up swinging when the water dropped. Really regret not taking a photo...

Kev - mine was hooked, netted and released.. YOURS wasn't even hooked.. you set hook so hard the fish came out of the water. (without hook) flew about 10 to 15 feet, hit you in the shoulder (you ducked BTW) then bounced down and finally bounced off the strip net.. proof is here at about the 3:41 minute mark [log in for link]
Bron 1) NO WAY! A real buddy would keep line tight til said buddy was done with their leak 2) if the lure is in the face yes. otherwise no.. but I'll count em anyway if I land it! lol 3) yes! 4) no as Kev said = illegal
