Lake: Lon Hagler Reservoir

Who wants to join the trash pickup group?

I fish mostly ponds and always carry at least one trash bag, it's pretty easy to just pick up the trash at each area you fish. I hadn't fished Lon Hagler for a while until this morning. I picked up one trash bag full there and then on the road leaving the lake there were two places where people had thrown their fast food trash out the window. I only had two bags, I guess I need to bring more from now on. Come on people, we can do better than that!.

Seriously. Pretty sure you're not gonna reach the people who do this on this forum, but I guess we'll just pick up everyone else's trash. Pretty disappointing seeing this.

I do the same. Pickup as much trash as I can and put it in my backpack. Im glad others are doing the same!

This is something that has been done many many time with FX members,

I don't know about the lock down one how many will get out,

But I would recommend contacting the CPW and let them know, they might help with bags and haul off.

Then I would create a sing up list and maybe call a potluck or lure/gear trade???

Either way I'm sure you will get members to join in to help.

Years ago FxR people got together and did one at Big Thompson Ponds. We picked trash up in the morning then grilled burgers and dogs for lunch. It was fun and it's a great way to meet other members.

When it comes to the current health situation, what's the difference between a group of fisherman and a trash pick up group? I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I pick up trash every time I fish. However, is now really the right time to suggest get togethers?

Its unfortunate that we have to clean up after the low percentage of slobs. I am glad to see us doing this kind of thing. There won't be anyone there to thank you for doing this but know it is the right thing to do.
