Lake: Rampart Reservoir

Rampart Reservoir via Rainbow Gulch

Hello Anglers,

I just went to Rampart today via Rainbow Gulch trail. First time at Rampart, and I wasn't disappointed. There is a good stretch of open water at the inlet out to the first point, and after that another 50 ft of open water till its ice locked. Had to move around 4 different times till I found a honey hole. Ended up with 17 rainbows and 1 fish I think could be a snake river cutthroat. I did not get a picture of that fish but I have a picture of an identical one i caught last year (attached). Any thoughts on what this fish is? Has anyone caught any cutthroats out of Rampart?

I think the fish is some kind of a Cutthroat. Based on overall color and spot pattern.

Here's a suspected cut-bow I caught there this last summer that looks similar to yours, no matter the species there are some beautiful fish in that reservoir.

Looks like a snake river cutthroat to me

Thanks for the insight everyone. Mxtsinclair thanks for sharing that pic. I would agree with the cutbow suspicion. The fish I pulled out of rampart had even smaller black spots- evenly disbursed over the fish, yellow tinted skin, and deep red gill plates. It did not look like any other rainbow I pulled out of there. Here are some pics of the rainbows I caught that day:
