Fish: Largemouth Bass

Anyone catching bass yet?

Post By: Hockeyian44      Posted: 3/3/2020 6:50:43 PM     Points: 0
Went fishing Saturday, Sunday and today and not even a sniff. Fished flats, shallow cattails, creek channels, you name it. Threw lipless, jerkbaits, jigs, and drop shot and didnít get a single bite.

Might still be a little early but was curious if anyone else had caught a couple? Hopefully the warmer weather will heat up the fishing.

I caught a couple this evening on a square bill crank bait. No bites on the swim bait but they liked the crank bait at least. Nothing big but I will take it.

Finally got a couple yesterday with a buddy of mine. He caught a 3.4 on a squarebill and lost what looked to be a bigger fish. After using it all day, I finally got one to take a jerkbait, mine went 2.2 lbs. Nothing crazy but was psyched to finally get a couple.

Sweetness!!! Iíve been diggin those squarebills in the spring the past couple of years. They sure do catch fish. I got into a few last night with a swim bait. They were sitting right against the shoreline just off of deep water. Itís only gonna get better from here.

Yep we were getting them the same way, they were hitting it about 10 ft off of shore right off the first drop.

Love it, the jerkbait bite has been pretty solid lately.
