Any Slush on Blue

Post By: johnski      Posted: 2/24/2020 4:18:22 PM     Points: 5094
Thinking about heading up to Blue this week. Wondered if the slush conditions are bad or what. Any info is appreciated.

That sounds do-able. Gotta get up there as ice in our area is showing weak edges. Thanks....

The ice/slush has been great at Blue this year. Most of the lake has about a 1/2" of snow on it and makes walking really nice. We did get a little ways back in the Cebolla arm this last weekend and got in some deeper snow with slush, but most of the lake is ideal conditions.

On a sidenote - I have never seen as many people ice fishing that lake as I have this year. I am sure it is because of the kill fest the CPW is running, but every time I have been up there it has been very busy. I would recommend getting away from all the pressure to find better fishing

Tell Jerry I would have taken him up on his offer but I was on baby alert this week. She made her grand entrance on Monday so that outing wasn't going to happen for me. I hope you guys got into some big ones.

We fished off Iola today and the snow depth varied from 1” to 4” with about 30” of good ice, no slush at all there. Low of 2 this morning, was 22 when we left so slush should hold off for another week.

Swampy13, Huge congrats on grandbaby # 6! We are excited to get our 5th GK in July. The lakers hit well from 7’till noon. Over 20 iced.

Johnski, Jerry beat me to the reply. Good luck if you go.

Swampy congratulations on the new grand baby. That’s one thing that is better than a good day fishing.

Is there much snow on the west end? Run a liquid cooled snowmobile and concerned about the ability to keep it off the red line.
