We went out on some metro ice today with low expectations and then my son hooked into and landed an 18" rainbow! It fought him for over 5 minutes and really tried to keep itself sideways at the hole. Fish was released. He ended up with 7 buddy and me only got 1 apiece.

You have to love it when your son/daughter outfishes you. My wife use to do that to me but she pretty much stays away from the lakes now.

Thanks guys! I was really surprised I caught it. I thought I foul hooked it the way it fought and wouldnt come out of the hole, then the fish just kept going when I got it through!
