Fantastic Winter day spent Euro Nymphing Eleven Mile Canyon, Colorado

On this cold and windy Winter day, my friend introduces me to one of his favorite stretches of water ... the South Platte River in Eleven Mile Canyon near Lake George, Colorado. We got into some incredible fish and basically had the entire catch and release part of the river all to ourselves. Disclaimer: Winter fly fishing is not easy, but the rewards may be many ...

Know that spot well, you definitely had the code this day, thanks for sharing.

Anteroman, seriously appreciate it! I'm thinking I had some beginners luck because I was just pulling in big one after big one for a couple hours there. Those moments are hard to come by, so I was cherishing every little bit. Thanks a million for the comment and hope to see you out on the water! dan

Absolutely awesome! I was stuck indoors all day reinstalling the water lines for the bathroom sinks otherwise I would have been out too! I had a chance to hit the river in Glenwood canyon last weekend with my euro nymphing rig and caught some beauties! Seems to be the time of the year to get the nymphs out and brave some cold weather!

Great job, beautiful video. Thanks so much for sharing!

fishing BB - would love to fish Glenwood Canyon sometime, but never quite sure where to start. The few spots I've tried near one of the rest areas seemed too deep and never much action. Probably didn't walk far enough! Anyways, appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. The Euro setup is so dam awesome and not sure I can ever go back to the old ways :)

I saw some clients 2 weeks ago in Glenwood. I pulled off at the no-name exit just a couple miles above town. There is a resort there which seemed vacant. If you drive all the way down the hill-there is a great looking slow deep pool which gets good sun. Its tucked away out of the wind also. Regretted not having my gear on board. My wife made me clean my car.
