Monument Lake Status

Is Monument Lake still frozen? If so, does anyone has historical info as to when it typically unfreezes during the year? Thanks in advance for your help.

I was there 1.5 weeks ago. Ice was 6-8" thick and very slick on the surface without any snow. Saw a kid take a big fall on the ice. Fishing was very poor although I marked quite a few on the fish finder. Could not induce any decent strike and didn't see anyone else land a fish out there in 4 hours. Not sure when it thaws, likely highly dependent on how warm a spring we get.

Thanks for the info Spikey. From what you mentioned, it sounds like it will most likely not melt until March /April timeframe. That sucks because I do not ice fish. I will try to be patient. :)

drove by at 6:40 AM this morning. Lake is capped. There are some soft edges on the bank in spots. That said, there were 3 people icing the lake mostly on the west side, So they obviously walked the entire lake. Please be careful on this lake. Year before last we had people fall through. With our up and down temperatures this place tends to be sketchy

Just wanna catch: the tournament did happen today. Im guessing there were around 70ish people. Lots of fish getting caught, but nothing too big. A 1lb pike won.

Wondering if the ice conditions have improved since it's been cold. Has anybody been out this week?
