castable/wifi fish finder

Anyone have any experience with a castable/wifi fish finder. especially when ice fishing, I've been looking at the Deeper Pro lately and just curious if anyone has any feedback.

My buddy has one. We have used it ice fishing and in open water from a boat. In open water it was pretty useless, and it runs through batteries pretty fast. We had to keep resetting it. For ice fishing it was better, it marked fish, but again we had to keep resetting it. Spent a lot of time messing with it as opposed to fishing. He only used it one season and was so frustrated he went and bought a proper flasher. I would save my money and get a better unit.

Out of curiosity, do you recall the brand?

Deeper pro is great but expensive, single cone angle for ice fishing 15°
Then there's deeper chirp ice fishing also single cone for ice fishing but a narrow 7°

Cheaper option is fish hunter but avoid FH 3d
Also avoid Ibobber and any other ebay sonar

To me best value is deeper pro because of costumer support, better user experience and overall dependability.

O and if you go with deeper, then buy thru their website to take advantage of their extended warranty.

I have an unused Deeper Pro+ I'll let go for $100.00

Kept it charged, but never had the chance to use it.

I have the DEEPER PRO+, it works great! Only drawback is the battery only lasts about 6 hours or so. If you are planning on using it for longer periods of time than that, then your best bet would be to find a Vex or something else that can be used all day long.

Beto, I can’t remember what it was so I called my buddy. He couldn’t remember what it was either. He said it got water logged and stopped working all together. I remember him getting it about 3 years ago and it only lasted that one season. Sorry not more helpful.

I have a sonar phone t-pod, made by Vexilar. Going on 6 or 7 years now. I use it mostly on my float tube. Occasionally I use it ice fishing or casting out during the summer. I've had zero problems with it.

Beto, if you havent looked into a Garmin Striker 4 I would recommend it. You can pick up the entire portable package for around $200 and I prefer it to any flasher I have used. They aren't for everybody, but if you haven't looked at one yet you should.

I've been using the Deeper Pro+ for a year now. Its an excellent fish finder. I would definitely recommend it. Garmin Striker 4 is also a great alternative.
