From what I know about the folks at Tightline the tournament will be well run and if it wasn't safe they wouldn't even attempt it. This tournament has been cancelled/ rescheduled several times in years past. I will see you folks out there. My bet is winning fish is a rainbow trout less than 2 lbs.

I will be there and how there is enough ice IDK! Seems like there has been some really nice weather to do it but from what I've learned that there is enough cold and longer nights to maintain and grow ice even though it's a high of 50 in the area. The wind is usually the biggest threat to breaking up there ice and ruining the event. I purchased a season pass and am group A but I would say from past events that it really doesn't matter as much as you think it does to be on the outside edges... good luck!

How thick do you need the ice be ? I have been fishing it for the last three days and have drilled over fifty holes and it's five inches thick of hard ice at Boyd lake.I have seen the rangers every day drive by but they have not come out to check my license or ask me how thick is the ice , however I have seen them giving tickets for not having a parks permit. If I was to bet there will be a tournament I put all my money in it.Good luck to everyone and do not forget you shoe spikes it it is very slick.
I was just on Tightlines Outdoors checking the Boyd tourney for a friend (he wants to do walk up and buy a ticket Sat morning) and it said sold out. I know they were selling flights E and F yesterday.
