Frying Pan River Toilet Bowl Fishing

Post By: Team CO.F.F.      Posted: 12/26/2019 7:13:29 PM     Points: 18
Hello Everyone! New member here...Just wanted to post about my recent trip to the Frying Pan River Toilet Bowl. Video Link at bottom of post!!

We (my friend/teammate and I) showed up that morning at about 7:00 AM and to our surprise, we had the toilet bowl to ourselves. It was a chilly 7 or 8 degrees, but I was expecting there to be at least one or two others.

Brown Trout were really aggressive, caught several nice ones on Dynamic Lures HD Trout series (several patterns).

A Fly Fishing gentleman (really nice guy) showed up mid morning and fished with us, he was using hand tied shrimp and letting the current take it. He landed into some nice ones, including a rainbow! BELOW is a link to the video! If you choose to check it out and you enjoy it, Like and SUBSCRIBE :D

How was the road up and how far did you have to hike?

Not sure my hands would function without making several trips to the car. When I was in college in Gunnison I used to ride my Kawasaki 90 down to the river for some brutal fly fishing. When I would get off the bike my knees were so numb I could barely walk. Had some great meals and stunk up the dorm something fierce. 7 years of college down the drain. Enjoy it while your hands can handle it!!! Beautiful fish..!!!!!!

- NICK95 - Road up wasn't bad...Small layers of ice in spots heading up there to the toilet bowl. Once at the turnoff, the road was covered in snow but it was packed. Didn't have to hike at all, parked right there :D

- SirGreg88 - Haha ya the flyfishing gentleman that was with us for half the morning said he didn't understand how we could take our gloves off, wet our hands, and hold the fish...It sort of makes it more brutal but worth it so you guys can see the fish briefly :D
