Ice fishing around Glenwood Springs

Post By: NoCo Fungi      Posted: 12/5/2019 12:29:10 PM     Points: 0
Hey I am heading up to Glenwood Springs today and wanted to see if anyone knew of any lakes to ice fish up there. I'm very familiar with the area itself but have never iced any lakes up there. Always enjoyed the famed rivers and soft water on the lakes.

Wife's birthday is today but she sometimes goes to the spa with some girlfriends. Wanted to know if anyone had some potential knowledge on any hard water this time of the year. I assume that it's all still soft but I figured it was worth asking...

Any help is always appreciated. jholman1219@gmail.com if you prefer to make it more private. I'm on the northern front range and always willing to return the favor somehow. Went out last weekend and caught some grayling on a high mountain lake. Thinner ice than usual so it might be that I have to wait for more cold to take over the lakes.

Not sure about accessibility with snow but deep lake sits at about 10.5k. I would think it it's got ice by now. Maybe reach out to Dakota dude. He fishes that area and is usually willing to help a guy out!

Right now, the only place I can think of in the vicinity of Glenwood Springs that might both be accessible and frozen would be Sylvan Reservoir south of Eagle, CO. : small to medium trout. Contact CPW for details on condition.
