Unsure about the ice so we went south instead. Both 'bows caught 12-02 at Pueblo Res. One on a worm and 'mallow, the other on Salmon Peach PB.

Does Pueblo never ice over at all? Does it fish well into the winter for shore fishing?

xavierk31- my recall on past winter forum entries regarding ice at Pueblo is sketchy, so I recommend checking out the historical lake condition entries for winter months. 12/02 was my first trip to Pueblo post October.

xavierk31, Pueblo rarely freezes with safe ice to fish. Some of the smaller coves will get ice in certain years but like I said rarely safe to fish. However open water can be good throughout the winter for walleyes and crappies on given days.

Thanks guys... I would definitely be looking to fish open water, not ice fish. Good to know there would be some open water opportunities.

I've fished Pueblo on the ice several times in the past but it is very sketchy and only freezes back in Turkey Creek area usually
