Lake: Tarryall Reservoir

Going up this Friday 19 Nov

Post By: mxtsinclair      Posted: 11/19/2019 6:11:18 PM     Points: 72
Headed up to ice fish this Friday, I'm hoping the storm front tomorrow through Thursday really firms the ice and adds at least an inch. Ill be sure to report on here and update the lake info.

If anyone goes up before me I'd appreciate the same! Also its my first time at Tarryall, I've iced Eleven Mile and Antero before so i'm familiar with South Park icing. Any advice or tips about Tarryall specifically would be awesome.

Have a good week!

The road to and from can be slick in the shady spots especially if there's snow. The north side usually freezes first and has better ice in the beginning. Good luck. Weather is super clear so sight fishing can be fun.

Refer to my post from last week. I usually park on the north east side right as you approach the lake. From there I usually go out from the jetty until I find 7-9 FOW on the edges of weeds. Lots of lil guys up there but fun none the less. Ice was good 5-6 inches as of last Friday.Good Luck

Sinclair, I was there yesterday and found 10" on the far side of the north end, but most of the holes I drilled were 7-8". This time of the year, stay away from the rocks at Tarryall. There is currently no snow on it, but that will probably be different by Friday, but with no more than they're expecting, it will probably get blown off, so don't forget your cleats. Pink micro jigs tipped with any kind of worm will work fine. I've noticed they're getting deeper as I've been on Tarryall ice since the 3rd. Tarryall is about finding the right spot. Your buddy 10 feet away can out fish you 4 to one, so if you're not catching, move. Yesterday the bite got really hot at 12:30, hope this helps, have fun.
