11 Mile 'bow

Post By: Salmon Slayer      Posted: 11/19/2019 5:21:43 PM     Points: 1558
Tammy caught her first decent size 11 Mile 'bow in Corral Cove yesterday, on a garlic 'crawler with garlic marshmallow. I had one break off on a bad knot (!X@#!!&*!). The two sunset anglers were on the parking lot point. Fishing might be good for those willing to brave Wednesday's (tomorrow's) predicted pre-strorm front. Saw no ice in our area.

Jim, based on my personal record the secret is safe.

Pretty fish and Beautiful Sunset, a special place for sure.

?? Do the trout taste like garlic when they eat that bait combo your feeding them?
Never heard of garlic for trout!

Bill, luv the wry humor in your query. In that same spirit, please note that in the world of PB aficionados, garlic is the top Cubano. My personal favorite PB is Salmon Peach, though, as I (and hundreds of trout can attest) is milder and sports a tangy, mild fruity taste (don't ask how I know). As to garlic, 11 Mile Marina offers finely rolled and highly aromatic garlic 'crawlers (or at least they did last year). I'm sure the store could set a batch aside for your next South Park foray. However, I simply sprinkle plain wigglers with garlic powder, and accompany one on the hook with a Zeke's yellow 'mallow.

Just put some garlic cloves in your nightcrawlers and they'll eat it and that works great

I just posted an update on 11 Mile today, 11/23. No ice seen in Corral Cove or on the main lake from my viewing place, except for a bit of skim near the pay station in parking lot cove. Zero wind this pm with bright sun.
