Lake: Thornton Rec Ctr Lake (Carpenter)

lure ID

Yesterday we did some recon on a lake we hadn't been to. Thornton Rec Center Lake looks like a nice place with potential when it isn't winterized. My sons first cast he pulled in a 4" rubber bass lure. Anyone know what it is? It had a white curly tail too but that fell off unhooking it.

looks like a jig with a creature bait attached to it. There are a ton of different variations of those and then of course since it essentially a two part deal, the jig could be one brand and the plastic could be another.

It's on the tip of my tongue, I think it's a whatchamacallit! Nice catch Blake. Soon we'll be on the ice!

Blake had a muskrat follow his kastmaster too--all the way to shore. Glad he didn't hook that too.

Good old bass jig with a creature plastic. You can get them cheap or pricey. A million combos out there too. I donít use them much but some people are religious with them. Lol.

Yeah just your standard bass jig with a plastic trailer, likely two different brands. The jig looks like a Zman crosseyez jig. Trailer looks like it might be a Strike King Rage Bug, sans flapping arms.

A jig and a trailer is standard gear for bass fishing, and is probably the most effective and versatile bass fishing lure yet invented. A spinnerbait, a jig, and a texas-rigged worm are the three baits I will never go bass fishing without.

I have owned a few damsel or dragon fly nymphs that look similar. Cant remember which was which but generally size 10,12 or 8---ish.
