Is there any ice or can I still use the long rods? Anyone been out there lately? Maybe heading up there today. Take the kiddos out for a bit.

According to my trail cameras up in that area, it is in the high 30s - low 40s and windy today... May not be helping the cause..

West is completely frozen. Dowdy and parvin have some open water that is what I saw on Thursday. I fished west on monday it had 2 inches of ice.

We did make it out to dowdy today. Ice was no good everywhere I seen. 2 inches of rotten honeycombed ice. It would not support my weight anywhere I tried. 2 to 3 ft of water all along the edges. Temps were in the high 50s up there with high winds. Not good for ice making. We did see a few fish along the edges in less then a foot of water. Kind of kool. Should have brought a rod down. It was nice getting the fam out for a bit. Differently be back with ice gear.
