FINALLY! Got my Spinney Brown.

Got out with SGM today and we had a great time. Mostly telling military lies about which branch of service is better! lol

But finally got my brown trout out of there and it was a blast. As you can see in one of the pics, darn thing was still fighting hard even when given a photo op! We talk about fish handling.. but in this situation, I think it was me that got handled.

Thank you Russ.

Was a fun day for sure, glad you survived the attack killer brown.

Super glad you got that brown fix Jim. But you might consider taking Brad’s brown trout photo op class! Nice sized cherry popper for that lake, I hope to get my first Spinney brown in 10 days.

Your right the bite was slow. Except for the small pike... I stuck it out all day. My friends had left due to lack of action. Being the glutton for punishment I loaded up at 4pm. Black streamers and leeches were best. I had hooked a few trout all of them fell off but one. We saw more risers than last week. Every trout I hooked took a swipe at my indicator first then ate the flies. Weird day... hammer handles were everywhere. I couldn’t keep them off my streamers so I switched to the indicator rig, they bit that too! You wanted a Brown heck all I wanted was a trout Lol.

Don, you mean like this? I shook him off the hook and the darn thing bit my line as it fell and wouldn't let go.

Jerry - good luck.. fair warning, no matter what the afternoon temp is... it is really cold first thing in the morning.

Russ did a little bit better! lol

I’ve seen plenty of “fish kiss” pictures. But they may be the first “fish hug”

Nice fish Jim!! Hopefully the first of many!

AWB yes just like that. Except the last one the bigger guy.... it bit off a very nicely tied, brand new leech... yep I’m still angry Jim!!!
