I canít say anything for this auger as I donít own one. The reviews online seem to be pretty good. Sounds like it has a few Flaws but what auger doesnít. Looks to be a newer auger. Either give it a season or two to see if some of the problems show up or buy one and find out for your self.
GoNe_FiShin_11 gives good advice on this one. Let the FNG do some homework this winter. You might find out why its cheaper than other augers. As with most sporting goods, you will find cheaper usually cost as much or more than the good gear because after the cheap one fails you go out and buy the good gear, now you have paided about one and a half times the price of a good gear . . .plus the time lost and maybe a screwed up trip to fish gone to the trash. Can you get by this winter without a new auger? Got any buddies that have power augers you can buddie up with this winter?I know the urge to buy is hard to live with, but this may be a reason to wait. Tough Question . . .even tougher answer. BTW . . .go look around U-Tube and see if there are any reviews/demo's.
U-Tube has a ton of vidio's on that auger . . . .looks like its a good unit. Go kick some tires on U-Tube . . . I watch one video about the 120V Trophy strike . . . .I like the way the cutting blades are in a round hoop.I'd think the 120V would be a beast?

Anyone wanna by a used gas auger cheap ? The only problem with is that it does have slow gas leak if you store it upright ... I solved that by emptying it before I store it. It's a Strikemaster Mag 2000 - 8 1/4 inch ice auger and usually starts on the second pull. Interested drop me an email at Jerryrask@hotmail.com.
I have the Strikemaster 40 volt lithium ion in the 10" auger. Absolutely impressed. I ice fish ND quite a bit. Flawless through 40" of ice. Works great in real cold. My eleven year old son can drill holes with it. I highly recommend the strikemaster 10" if your in the market. Just my thoughts. 6 weeks and we'll be on hard water.
