Fished the Yampa through Steamboat both Saturday and Sunday morning for a few hours. It Was cold when I got there and the eyes on my rod were freezing up until about 8:30. I was just spin fishing and fished floating raps in various colors. Managed quite a few nice browns in the 18-20” range and a few nice rainbows in the 14-16” range. All in all it was a great couple of mornings.

Nice Mike! I've been waiting since the closure of the river in the summer to get back over and fish. You made up my mind I gotta fish yampa this weekend. I bet I wont have to cast in between the tubers this time. haha.

Steve, I never meant it like that but as I read it back it does sounds like that. No way of fishing is lesser than any other for me, whatever catches fish works for me. I didn't get any pike or see any follow. I did have some follows from larger browns, I would have liked to sink my hook into.

I like your attitude, (mine too) anything that catches fish I will use. I can fish using just about any method in lake or stream so I am not committed to any one method. Some times I will select one method to use just because I want to fish that way, at least for awhile. If this method isn't working I can always try something else. Congrats on the nice fish and thanks for sharing.
