Catfishing tonight

Post By: Gurnman      Posted: 8/20/2019 3:25:25 PM     Points: 434
I want to take my 5 year old son night fishing for cats tonight before he starts school Thursday. Where would you go in N. Colorado greeley, windsor, loveland area? Fishing from shore, easy access is preferred.

Alittle further down the road, but still close, is St. Vrain State Park. The bigger lake by the entrance has good access, and is managed for cats.

I've caught a lot of cats at Boyd. Also ate up by skeeters !

Thanks guys. I really like the st. Vrain idea. I didn't make it out unfortunately. We will go in the AM instead.

Any tips on fishing for cats in a lake that has a lot of weed growth? Not sure what type of weeds they are but jigs pull out of them easy without it sticking on the line usually. Caught a 10in channel cat jigging a gulp minnow randomly last month but i plam to just sit and wait for a bite.
