Lake: Harriman Lake

Trip invite--Harriman

Post By: bron      Posted: 8/9/2019 9:15:20 PM     Points: 46523
I would like to invite old and new FXR members to meet up at Harriman Lake on 9/15. Maybe swap some lures and bbq after fishing. Anyone interested? Never fished there ....

Is there a public access? I ran by there last month. Took the road off from Kipling that said Harriman Lake and it took me through the subdivision and I finally gave up. I didn't see any parking areas or anything and if there were some they were awful small. I thought I saw people running around it one time but thought it was private. Thanks.

We will do some recon and see if this is worth pursuing.

The only parking lot for Harriman is on southbound Kipling right before the fire station...the big dirt lot. Haven’t been there this year, but there is plenty of shore access, although it’s a bit of a hike if you want to get to the dam area.

Thank you Panfishin. I must have driven right past that area.

I don't think this lake has fully recovered from being drained for dam repair in 2011. Plenty of small bass but no sign of any other species. Was a fun outing anyhow.

Harriman Lake has access to the public off of Kipling, south of Quincy light.

This was pretty cool what you guys did. Wish I could've stopped by. Looks like a nice place with a lot of access, Might be a great option for those with little kids or grandkids to check out for a couple of hours.

Thanks Abel. It would be a good lake for kids. Short hike on a path, beach shoreline, and you can get them on small bass using any method.
