Water contact at Jefferson?

Post By: adrenaline_junkie_ff      Posted: 7/28/2019 7:05:33 PM     Points: 7862
So someone mentioned to my wife that water contact is not allowed. Being Aurora water owned, it didn't surprise me but I figured I would try to find it in writting somewhere. Aurora and Denver Water are both pretty good about documenting that particular restriction for each body of water but am coming up empty. I looked on the USFS page as well as Aurora water page for the lake. I see the wakeless restriction as well as no motorized vehicles but not that. I'm definitely not looking to go swimming in that ice box but my wife was wanting to sit on the bank with her feet in the water. Worst case, we will ask at the gate. TIA

I think they allow scuba diving there or at least they used too. I was fishing in the bay just on the other side of the parking lot one morning and two divers came up along that gauge on the left side but that was awhile back.

Iíve been there when there were distance swimmers in the water swimming alongside row boats.

I have never seen any restrictions about water contact at Jefferson, either in print or posted at the lake.
