Blue Mesa Koke Bite ????

Post By: TheFishingMachine      Posted: 7/22/2019 5:51:16 PM     Points: 164
Headed up to try my luck on the kokanee in a couple days. Does anyone know if jigging has started up yet? I hit up the blue a couple weeks ago and did pretty well trolling, but I hear the bite is very sporadic if almost non existent recently.

Everything seems to be a few weeks behind. No signs of jigging yet. The fish have dropped and seem to be 20 to 70' deep depending on the day and time of day. Sporadic is the best description of the trolling bite! Good luck!

My buddy has spent several days there, he's staying until the 21st. Trolling has been sporadic, 45-65 feet down.

The schooling of the kokanee (bumper boats!) has not started yet in earnest. He fished with Robby a few days ago, and they caught more jigging, but the schools were hard to find today.

I'll be there looking to jig 65' down on Tuesday and Wednesday- I am not fond of trolling
